Here is another CustomMade project, thankfully this one is local and it's not swamped from a Christmas rush so I don't have to deal with missing mail orders, parts deliveries to the wrong address and an ever escalating deadline, not to mention the shipping fees. I gave the customer different options, from veneer core white oak ply and solids to painted 'clear and better' pine. This is to be painted pine. Two variants of this design were offered, one with the base unit deeper than the shelves, but we decided to go flush, the idea being to make this as clean as can be. The paint color will match the existing trim. I've decided to make the elements thicker than the tiresome ¾ inch thickness and go with 1 1/8 stock. Construction details will be determined once the stock is milled but I'm not intending to do anything fancy, and that's a good thing because I broke my right wrist! That's right, after only thinking I broke my wrist after my encounter with a job-site death trap last summer I've gone ahead and done the real thing. Oh dear. Will this stop the job? Not a chance, Mara is a skilled woodworker and I have friends who will pitch in, I think some of them are even libertarians, what do you think of that? I get a chance to play the Decider too because I know how things work, right? Also, as an aside, while I can't even twist a clamp or write a check I can still design stuff on my CAD program after I bought a track pad for the workstation.
